The Hawthorne Blvd. Business Association (HBBA) truly appreciates our neighbors who support our food and drink establishments, our service providers and our retail stores! We know you can shop anywhere and thank you all very much for heading to the Boulevard for both your special and your mundane needs!!
We could not be as active as we are if we did not have so many businesses paying annual dues, sponsoring the Street Fair, the Hawthorne Holiday Stroll, the Flags on the Boulevard, the Holiday Gift Guide and supporting administrative services! We plan to publish a Food & Drink Guide and hope to have it available by Thanksgiving for your munching information and pleasure!
The Board of Directors met recently to look at the Association’s Mission, Vision and Goals to be more clear and conscious of who we are, what we do and why we do it! We are sure that even though we want and need the support of our wider community and visitors, our neighbors and our Neighborhood Associations are very important to work with as we struggle with issues of parking, out of context developments and the desire to maintain our unique place as one of the first organized Business Districts in Portland.
We welcome the Maple Parlor on SE 35th with smiles and appreciation and we feel great sadness – and pride, too – when Pastaworks, one of our longest standing and early District supporters, has to leave the Boulevard because they have grown too big for us! Be sure to stop by for their goodbye events and plan to check them out when they move to their new quarters on Sandy Boulevard early next year!!
